Every programmer should have these habits. And with every, I really mean everyone who wants to write code as a hobby or profession. These are fundamental things but I see many developers not using these habits to their advantage.
1. Drinking Water.
Water is a very important resource for our human body helping our mental health and boosting our brain. A lot of young developers switched to energy drinks to replace water which shouldn't be the case. The benefit of water unlike with energy drinks where you get a quick boost that lasts a couple of hours you can increase your health in the long run instead of killing your body with too much sugar. Water might not taste as good as a cold and fresh Redbull but it's worth it. So please drink at least 2.5 to 3L of water every day and stay healthy.
2. Enough sleep.
Now we all know that one situation where it's already 2 in the morning but there is this one bug in the code that just needs to be fixed but we can't quite figure it out. Stuff like this usually happens when we are lacking sleep that's why it's super important to have a healthy sleeping schedule. I personally try getting at least 7-8hours of sleep and even more on the weekends
3. The power of walking
The last habit every programmer should have is going for a walk. Trust me before every longer coding session you want to go outside put some music on and just walk around the local park in your city for around an hour. Don't talk to anyone while walking focus on yourself and clear up your mind. And trust me programming will feel way easier after you've made your mind clear. Personally, I believe every tech company should encourage their workers to go for a 1h walk each day fully paid of course. Personally my efficiency and code quality increased after going for a 1hour walk.
That's it with my personal Top3 programming habits. If you tried some id love some feedback in the comment section.
